Beatriz is a first year Master's student in the Program for Writers at UIC. She is an intern for Switchback Books and a research assistant for the Chicago Healthy Living Study which conducts cancer research. In April, she read at the City Wide Undergraduate Poetry Festival at Columbia and in May, she received UIC’s undergraduate creative writing award for poetry.
Mairead Case lives and writes in Pilsen, and works in community organizing on the South Side. She is Managing Editor of Proximity Magazine and curated a radio show about dreams for Neighborhood Public Radio at the 2008 Whitney Biennial.www.fabulouscolor.blogspot.com.
Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Helen Kiernan likes to yell poetry at people, drink beer, write on walls, bake soda bread, and shoot at black helicopters with anerf gun. HK loves working for Switchback Books, Red Floors Gallery, and Elephant Zine. She will graduate Columbia College in December with a degree in Poetry.
