Tuesday, April 22, 2008, 7:30 p.m. Women & Children First Judy Chicago - The Dinner Party: From Creation to Preservation Join us as we welcome world-famous feminist artist Judy Chicago and celebrate the release of the book, The Dinner Party: From Creation to Preservation, about the artist’s most iconic exhibition, now on permanent display at the Brooklyn Museum’s Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art. A monumental installation project, The Dinner Partywas created, between 1974-1979, as a symbolic history of women in Western civilization. It employs numerous traditional arts & crafts media, including ceramics, china-painting, and an array of needle and fiber techniques. Chicago will discuss the project and its recent history and incarnation in book form, and take questions from the audience.
