Our mission is to amplify discourse on local and gloral art ecologies. We hope to serve as a map – of artists, collectives, and alternative spaces to commercial galleries, museums, and universities – as a means of connecting and cultivating sustainable creative communities. Proximity Magazine debuted at the 2008 Chicago Art Fairs, and is distributed internationally and widely available locally, including at Quimby's. It is published by Ed and Rachael Marszewski at the Public Media Institute (Lumpen, Version, and Select Media Festivals), a 501(c)(3); designed by Michael Freimuth; and edited by Mairead Case.
