Jim Cory & Marisa Crawford burst forth with many-petaled poetry, waft the delectable scents of the heartbreak of humor, the humor of heartbreak, & bespeak the splendid fecundity of verse.

Oh please just come hear two of my favorite poets read. They are amazing & wonderful & so sweet, too.

Jim Cory is a PA Arts Council and Yaddo fellow whose poems have recently appeared, or are about to, in Apiary, Burp, Fell Swoop, Fuck!, Court Green, 5 AM, Lungfull!, Skidrow Penthouse and unarmed journal. Favorite words include: pestiferous, palaver, pulchritude, and piece-of-ass. No Brainer Variations, a thoroughly obnoxious chapbook, is the winner of Rain Mountain Press’ 2010 Ron Wardell Prize and will be published by those good people shortly. From judge Cathy Park Hong's citation:

Jennifer Tamayo's writing is cacophonous, rude, and stripped. She uses equal measures of English, Spanish, and Spanglish; she landmines her poetry with malapropisms so the music is startling and pleasingly discordant. [Red Missed Aches] feels defiantly unfinished, adhering to a DIY feminist punk aesthetic so that it is more rough assemblage than bound book, a palimpsest that provocatively revises female sexuality and citizenship. Tamayo's debut collection is a daring and astonishing work that refuses borders.
